Blue has always been a symbol of purity. In fact, historically, many women chose the colour blue for their wedding dress specifically for that reason.

'Something old' represents continuity; 'something new' offers optimism for the future; 'something borrowed' symbolises borrowed happiness; 'something blue' stands for purity, love, and fidelity.

Blue has always been a symbol of purity.

In fact, historically, many women chose the colour blue for their wedding dress specifically for that reason. White, on the other hand, symbolised wealth. In 1840, Queen Victoria married Prince Albert, and wore a white wedding gown which became instantly fashionable with soon to be brides who copied the wealthy royals with white bridal dresses.

Julie from Bexleyheath in Kent, arrived at her wedding ceremony wearing her blue bridal dress. Her dress was one of the most elegant dresses I've ever seen. Julie was accompanied by her bridesmaids all wearing blue dresses. Groom Joe and his groomsmen also worn the colour blue with navy suits with light blue ties.

Blue happens to be my favourite colour and I loved every moment photographing Julie & Joe's wedding with all it's beautiful shades. Mother natural also joined in by producing a perfectly blue sky and a crystal clear blue sea to match their wedding colour scheme.
