As a wedding photojournalist, my approach is to tell the story of the day through creatively photographing it in a candid and relaxed way; documenting the authentic and genuine moments as they happen.
I do get some requests from couples asking for traditional posed group family photos which I'm more than happy to do. I do try to keep these groupshots as informal and natural looking as possible. I generally try to keep these sessions quick, simply and uncomplicated, so letting everyone get back to celebrating and enjoying the rest of the day.
For family formals, I ask for up to a maximum of ten 'must have' groups. Don't feel that you have to complete a list of ten. If needed and timings permit, additional groups can be taken on the day.
