As a wedding photojournalist, my approach is to tell the story of the day through creatively photographing it in a candid and relaxed way; documenting the authentic and genuine moments as they happen.
I do get some requests from couples asking for traditional posed group family photos which I'm more than happy to do. I try to keep these groupshots as informal and natural looking as possible. I generally keep these sessions quick, simply and uncomplicated, so letting everyone get back to celebrating and enjoying the rest of the day.
For family formals, I ask for up to a maximum of ten “must have” groups.
Don't feel that you have to complete the full list of ten.
If needed and the timings permit, additional groups can be taken throughout the day.
