Francesca & Kyle | The Olive Gardens.
NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE BASED WEDDING PHOTOJOURNALIST
Francesca & Kyle from St Helens in Merseyside, UK, are great bubbly couple and their fun and excitement is infectious. They decided to have their destination wedding on the tiny sunny Mediterranean island of Malta. Wedding guests and family had joined them from the UK as well as having their Maltese family and friends celebrating with them on their special day.
We met and started photographing Francesca and her bridal parties wedding day preparations at the Villa Belvedere. The accommodation is ideally located on the outskirts of St Julians with easy reach of everything but far away from the crowds and noise for some peace and quiet.
After leaving Francesca just before she departed for her wedding, we arrived and met Kyle, his groomsmen and guests at the ceremony & reception venue at the Olive Gardens at the foot of the Silent City, Mdina. The Olive Gardens has a rustic feel to it with wooden beams and large apertures leading to a well-groomed garden area, pool area and stunning views of Mdina. Mdina is an alternative setting for photographs that both Francesca and Kyle opted for as they wanted Bride & Groom portraits within the medieval city with it's stunning Norman and Baroque architecture and it's narrow stone streets.
This really is a beautiful location for a wedding in the heart of the Maltese countryside with it's breathtaking backdrop can be appreciated both during the day, with its luscious greenery and olive groves surrounding the venue, as well as during the evening, when the bastions and spectacular floodlit Cathedral are illuminated.
