Ruth & Alan @ The Westin Dragonara Resort.
Church Wedding Ceremony: - Santa Marija Maddalena Chapel in Madliena.
Wedding Reception: - Bedouin Bar at the Westin Dragonara Resort in St Julians.
I got to know this gorgeous Maltese couple Ruth & Alan well before their wedding as they had booked me for an engagement session. Alan (like most guys) isn't a huge fan of having his photo taken. I'm so very happy that we had this time before the wedding to get Ruth and Alan in front of the camera. We all had a great time that day while we got rid of any preconceived ideas of stiff posing that most guys dread. Capturing natural, relaxed images of a couple is what I do without trying to make the couple pose in difficult, awkward positions. I think Alan got a lot from the engagement session in preparation for the big day ahead as he's a fella that doesn't like too much fuss and this put his mind at ease.
Big things have small beginnings.
Ruth and Alan are one of our favourite couples from 2016 and we loved every part of being part of their special day. There are always challenges with weddings including weather, lighting, timings etc, but this wedding went perfectly apart one 'small' challenge with the beautiful but very tiny Santa Marjia Maddalena chapel in Madliena close to St Julians where their wedding ceremony was to be held. I've shot 100's of weddings over the years but I've never been in such a small space working along side a videographer and trying not to cause any distraction to the ceremony. It was a challenge but the tiny chapel did have it's own charm and intimacy because of the close proximity.
In total contrast to the ceremony, the wedding reception in was held at the very spacious Bedouin Bar on the sea's edge at the Westin Dragonara Resort in St Julians.
